Context

Transforming India’s Cooperative Movement for the Next Decade

India’s cooperative sector—spanning agriculture, dairy, fisheries, credit, marketing, processing, and retail—touches the lives of over 25 crore members and forms the backbone of Bharat’s rural and semi-urban economy. As global markets, climate risks, consumer expectations, and supply chains rapidly evolve, cooperatives must now embrace digital technologies to remain competitive, inclusive, and resilient.

Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), ChatGPT, Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, and Digital Public Infrastructure are no longer futuristic concepts. They are practical, deployable tools capable of transforming how cooperatives operate, govern, manage risks, and deliver value to their members.

The Cooperative Digital Summit 2026 is a two-day national platform bringing together cooperative leaders, policymakers, technology providers, financial institutions, startups, and practitioners to deliberate on how digital technologies can future-proof cooperatives across the entire value chain—from farm to consumer.
